Reliance Jio, the premier telecommunications provider in India, has announced its intention to implement significant tariff adjustments commencing on July 3, 2024. This move will impact its extensive subscriber base, which currently stands at over 472 million individuals. The proposed changes, spanning from 12% to 25%, are designed to account for escalated operational expenses and to improve the quality of services provided.
In a press release, Jio announced that the Rs 155 plan will experience a slight increase, rising to Rs 189. Meanwhile, the widely-acclaimed Rs 239 monthly plan, which presently provides 1.5 GB of data daily, will be subject to a 25% increase, resulting in a new price of Rs 299. This adjustment represents the highest increase in the package structure, with the annual plan witnessing a rise from Rs 2,999 to Rs 3,599.
