When expressing her opinions or criticizing Bollywood and her peers, Kangana Ranaut doesn’t hold back. The actor, who is currently a BJP MP as well, is occupied with promoting Emergency, the film in which she portrays Indira Gandhi, the first female prime minister of India. Prior to this, Kangana had referred to Shah Rukh Khan and herself as the “last generation of stars.” Actors now have more opportunity to display their talent because to OTT. Speaking earlier this year at the Times Now Summit, she declared, “OTT doesn’t have any stars; we are the last generation of stars.” The Queen actor recently went into more detail about what inspired her to say that.
Kangana stated, “I think I said me and Shah Rukh because we are two outsiders (who have truly made it),” during an interview with Raj Shamani’s podcast. Delhi is home to Shah Rukh Khan, who is not in the film business.” She also discussed the Pathaan actor’s move from Delhi to Mumbai, which, although not a huge move, was nevertheless an amazing accomplishment for a “outsider.”
However, Kangana emphasized that she and Shah Rukh came from distinct backgrounds. “He rose to the pinnacle of stars. My origins are in the highlands. “It is not much of a difference to come from Delhi to Mumbai, his mother was a magistrate, he could speak English well, and he attended a convent school,” she said.
Kangana observed that although both SRK and her had a lack of parental support in their early careers—SRK lost his parents at a young age—the challenges she faced were compounded by her age and rural upbringing. However, I’m a girl from a village who moved here as a youngster. That makes my trip much more challenging. Nevertheless, I think that’s about it. He didn’t have parents either, so I make comparisons along those lines,” the actor continued.
The trailer for the Kangana Ranaut film Emergency was released by the producers on Wednesday. It provided viewers with a glimpse of Indira Gandhi’s ascent to prominence following the passing of her father, Jawaharlal Nehru, the country’s first prime minister. Her ascent amid accusations that she seized her father’s authority is depicted in the trailer. September 6 is the scheduled release date for the movie.
